Do you know a shipmate who is not on the Crew List or Officer List? If so, please let us know! Ho Shipmates! Greetings to the "Head of the Class" (as all ex-LAFAYETTE crew members can rightly claim to be). I am honored to be able to report to you what has been going on since last year's inaugural reunion in Tunica. Your Association volunteers are working very hard. Due to health and conflicts with prior commitments we had some changes in the Board. Today I am happy to report all present, accounted for and underway for an even better reunion Fall of 2007 in Charleston (exact date to be announced later). 2006-2007 Leadership:
*Board member † Bill Fraser is considered immediate past president We have two high-priority needs where your help is needed: (1) An estimate of how many plan to attend Reunion’07 in Charleston, SC. (2) Funds to make the necessary deposits for the Reunion. If you have not registered to be a member of the Association, please do so now by selecting the Registration link to the left. If you have already registered, please select the Registration link to the left now to "express interest" (yes, no, maybe) in attending the reunion. (See "Plans for Charleston Reunion Fall '07" at bottom of form). Please send your Association biyearly dues of $20 for 2006-07 as soon as possible. Send your dues, with checks made payable to Lafayette Association, to: Joe Geiger (Treasurer), 2211 Riding Ridge Rd, Columbia, S.C. 29223 In closing, let me urge you to visit our web site. Bill has really done a magnificent job, There is a crew list (add your name, if not there), a chat room, over 30 areas of information on the Head of Class, as well as links to stores that offer submarine memorabilia. I’ll be back in touch as soon as there is more information on the reunion and as we develop other areas of interest. The Lafayette was a great ship with so many fine shipmates, I feel privileged to be associated with all of you. Until next time, Smooth Sailing,
Herb Wise President 936-271-1502
